The Oldest Spider Web

The oldest spider web that's been found so far was discovered in a chunk of amber thought to have been formed about 140 million years ago.  Amateur fossil hunters Jamie and Jonathan Hiscocks found the amber on a beach at Bexhill in England.  Professor Martin Brasier, a paleobiologist at Oxford University, is currently working to confirm the find, which apparently consists of a single thread.  There's more information here
